The article examines manifestations of antisocial behavior in contemporary literature using the novels "Apartment for Two" by Beth O'Leary and "Leave It If You Love Me" by Colin Hoover as an example. The topic of antisocial behavior in works of art is extremely relevant in modern society, as it touches on issues of loneliness, interpersonal barriers, traumatic experiences and the search for emotional contact. The analysis of the selected novels demonstrates various types of psychological isolation that arise as a reaction to pain, loss or uncertainty in one's own worth, and also shows how literature reflects ways of overcoming these states through empathy, trust and love. The purpose of the work is to identify the features of the manifestation of asocial behavior in modern fiction and to determine the ways of overcoming it by means of interpersonal interaction, presented in the novels of Beth O'Leary and Colin Hoover. The research methodology is based on a comparative-analytical approach, which allowed to compare artistic images, situations and psychological states of characters in two novels. Elements of psychological analysis, literary interpretation and structural-semantic method were used to reveal the internal motives of the characters' asocial behavior. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the attempt to comprehensively understand asocial behavior as an artistic and psychological phenomenon, which takes on different forms depending on the life circumstances of the characters. For the first time, a comparative analysis of the novels “Apartment for Two” and “Leave It If You Love Me” is made in the context of studying social isolation, showing that modern women's prose uses the theme of asocial behavior not only to reveal internal experiences, but also as a means of moral growth of the characters. In the novel “Apartment for Two” by Beth O’Leary, the asocial behavior of the characters is manifested mainly in the form of isolation, avoidance of social contacts and fear of openness to others. The main characters - Tiffy and Leon — are experiencing difficult life circumstances that lead to emotional alienation. They live in a shared apartment, but do not see each other in person, communicating only through notes. This form of communication first acts as a manifestation of social isolation, and later — as a way of establishing a connection that helps the characters overcome their isolation and open up to the world again. In Colin Hoover's novel "It Ends With Us," antisocial behavior is more dramatic and associated with deep psychological trauma. The main character goes through a traumatic experience in an attempt to escape her mother's fate, falls into this vicious circle and becomes a victim of domestic violence, and tries to break this circle for the sake of her child. The author shows that overcoming alienation is possible only through self-acceptance, forgiveness, and support from loved ones. A comparative analysis allows us to see that in the works of both authors, antisocial behavior is not an end state, but rather a stage of internal transformation. It becomes a means of artistic comprehension of the theme of emotional healing, restoration of social ties, and the formation of a new, more harmonious personality. They live in a shared apartment, but do not see each other in person, communicating only through notes. This form of communication first acts as a manifestation of their social isolation, and later - a way to gradually establish a connection. The author skillfully shows how interpersonal communication, even in an indirect form, can become a way to restore trust in people. The isolation of the characters in this novel has a soft, everyday character, but at the same time reflects deep internal contradictions - a consequence of psychological traumas associated with previous relationships, self-doubt and fear of intimacy. A comparative analysis of the two novels allows us to identify both common features and significant differences in the reflection of the problem of antisocial behavior. If in Beth O'Leary the isolation of the characters is overcome through communication, support and the emergence of mutual trust, then in Colin Hoover the process of overcoming alienation is more complex, dramatic and associated with the need for internal cleansing, forgiveness and acceptance of oneself. In both cases, social isolation appears as a temporary stage that can be overcome through emotional support, empathy and awareness of one's own worth. Thus, the study demonstrates that 21st century literature not only depicts antisocial behavior, but also offers ways to overcome it. Through the images of heroes who learn to trust, open up, and accept others, the authors convey the idea of the importance of social connections in the formation of a healthy personality. The theme of antisocial behavior in the works of Beth O'Leary and Colin Hoover reflects modern social problems - the growth of loneliness, alienation, and psychological vulnerability of people in the digital age.en
