Abstract
The problem of classification of modern geoglyphs is considered in the article. A new subclass has been identified – pseudogeoglyphs. The classification of geoglyphs has not yet been finalized. As you continue your research in this area, many new refinements and edits need to be made. The generally accepted classification of geoglyphs characterizes them very narrowly, so it is often necessary to look for new approaches to expanding and explaining new concepts to understand a particular object of study. In particular, many questions remain regarding natural geoglyphs or geoglyphs of unknown origin. Should they be called geoglyphs at all, because they were formed by chance, in the course of certain natural processes, and they purposefully did not lay down any informative function, unlike anthropogenic geoglyphs. For a better understanding and explanation of the concept of «pseudogeoglyph» the definition of what a geoglyph is. A geoglyph is a human-created (intentionally or purposefully), nature (pseudogoglyph) or of unknown origin, a glyph, geometric or figured pattern or pattern, in any geosphere that performs an informative function. The function performed by geoglyphs is informative. However, it should be clarified that when creating an anthropogenic geoglyph, the informative function that is embedded in it may be primary, secondary, combined and indefinite. As with any class of anthropogenic landscape, in the course of its functioning, the geoglyph may undergo changes over time, which are manifested in the change of its geofunction – transformation into another form, transition to another geosphere or complete or partial extinction. Pseudogeoglyphs look similar to artificially created objects but in fact they were accidentally created by nature, so calling them geoglyphs that were purposefully created to convey some information is impossible. Pseudogeoglyphs can be formed in any sphere of the Earth and can look like an artificially created object.
