Реалізація змістової лінії «екологічна безпека та сталий розвиток» у підручнику з англійської мови для 8 класу

Abstract

Статтю присвячено практичним аспектам реалізації інтегрованої змістової лінії «Екологічна безпека та сталий розвиток» на уроках англійської мови в закладах загальної середньої освіти у 8 класі. Зазначено, що вміння окресленої змістової лінії традиційно розвиваються під час розвитку комунікативної компетентності в межах тем ситуативної комунікації, пов’язаних зі змістовою лінією, також мають свій ситуаційний потенціал і можуть забезпечити розвиток відповідних умінь змістової лінії. Розвиток таких умінь змістової лінії можливий, насамперед, завдяки включенню екологічних матеріалів та завдань, які є життєве важливими, містять цікаві факти, викликають емоції та стимулюють обговорення. Розкрито дидактико-методичні можливості підручника з англійської мови для 8 класу.

The article deals with the practical aspects of the implementation of the integrated content line “Environmental safety and sustainable development” in English lessons at school. It notes that the skills of the outlined content line are traditionally developed while developing communicative competence within the topics of situational communication related to the content line, for example, “Recreation and leisure”, “Nature and environment”, etc. The purpose of the article is to show that other topics of situational communication that are not directly related to the content line (for example, “School time. What is your school?”, “Your preferences. Do you need a book?”, “Your preferences. With music in your heart.” and others) have also their situational potential and can ensure the development of relevant skills of the content line. The development of content-line skills is, first and foremost, possible due to the inclusion of environmental material and tasks that are vital, contain interesting facts, evoke emotions, and stimulate discussion. Great success and productivity are achieved through video and audio materials, informative eco-friendly online resources. Teaching situations based on material with real data and facts and performing tasks or activities that are meaningful and engaging contribute to learners’ understanding of human responsibility for the environment, promote the development of critical thinking, the ability to solve environmental safety issues. The author describes the possible forms of teaching organization and teaching technologies (excursion, presentation, project work, experiment, role-playing game, business game, discussion, and environmental actions) to implement the content line within some topics of situational communication on the basis of English textbook for grade 8. The examples of teaching material containing environmental problems that illustrate the implementation of this content line are recommended, specific skills of the content line are identified.
