Термінологія антропогенного ландшафтознавства

Abstract

Мета – розглянути правомірне використання усталених та нових термінів і понять в антропогенному ландшафтознавстві. У процесі дослідження використано, переважно, методи аналізу та узагальнення, а також вчення про антропогенні ландшафти. Зазначено, що ландшафтознавці мало приділяють уваги понятійнотермінологічному апарату своєї науки, особливо у процесі розвитку антропогенного ландшафтознавства. Зокрема, це стосується навіть таких базових термінів як «ландшафт» із класичного ландшафтознавства і «природно-антропогенний ландшафт» із антропогенного ландшафтознавства. Доведена неправомірність використання терміну «природно-антропогенний ландшафт». Звернено також увагу на спроби заміни уже усталених в антропогенному ландшафтознавстві термінів на нові не міняючи їх змісту. Особливо це стосується терміну «селитебний ландшафт» та бажанням замінити його новотвором «поселенський ландшафт». У зв’язку з тим, що антропогенне ландшафтознавство в Україні розвивається активно, проблема формування його понятійно -термінологічного апарату буде актуальною і у майбутньому. Особливо це буде стосуватися таких термінів та їх змісту, як белігеративний (від лат. – beliqero – як вести війну), воєнно-фортифікаційні, оборонні ландшафти та інші. Зазначено, що оновлення й збагачення термінології антропогенного ландшафтознавства процес неминучий. Однак спеціальну лексику необхідно запроваджувати обґрунтовано.

Every scientific discipline, as it develops its terminological framework, seeks to refine its concepts ever further. However, new terms often lack any substantive meaning. The aim is to examine the appropriate use of established and new terms and concepts in anthropogenic landscape studies. The research primarily utilised methods of analysis and generalisation, as well as the theory of anthropogenic landscapes. It is noted that landscape scientists pay little attention to the conceptual and terminological apparatus of their discipline, particularly in the development of anthropogenic landscape science. An analysis was carried out of the ‘disease’ of neologism regarding the invention of new names for phenomena and concepts that already have established terms. It is shown that such ‘more precise words’ do not enrich the theory of anthropogenic landscape studies and contribute nothing of substance. In particular, this applies even to such basic terms as ‘landscape’ from classical landscape studies and ‘natural-anthropogenic landscape’ from anthropogenic landscape studies. The inappropriateness of using the term ‘natural-anthropogenic landscape’ has been demonstrated. Attention has also been drawn to attempts to replace terms already established in the field of anthropogenic landscape studies with new ones without altering their meaning. This applies in particular to the term ‘settlement landscape’ and the desire to replace it with the neologism ‘settlement landscape’. Given that anthropogenic landscape studies are developing rapidly in Ukraine, the issue of establishing its conceptual and terminological framework will remain relevant in the future. This will particularly concern terms and their meanings such as ‘belligerent’ (from the Latin beliqero – to wage war), ‘military-fortification’, ‘defensive landscapes’ and others. It is noted that the process of updating and enriching the terminology of anthropogenic landscape studies is inevitable. However, specialised vocabulary must be introduced in a well-founded manner.
