Формування м’яких навичок майбутніх учителів під час навчання англійської вимови

Abstract

У статті розглянуто питання розвитку м’яких навичок здобувачів вищої освіти педагогічних ЗВО у процесі формування іншомовної фонетичної компетентності. На основі аналізу сучасних підходів до класифікації м’яких навичок і вимог Освітньої програми з підготовки майбутніх учителів англійської мови виокремлено чотири групи м’яких навичок, необхідних для здійснення ефективної педагогічної діяльності щодо формування іншомовної комунікативної компетентності інших. Наголошено на тому, що найбільший потенціал для розвитку м’яких навичок під час навчання англійської вимови майбутніх учителів мають вправи для формування професійних умінь, серед яких виділено вправи на аналіз фонетичних одиниць англійської й рідної мов для визначення їхніх спільних і відмінних рис; вправи на локалізацію, ідентифікацію, аналіз й виправлення вимовних помилок у вимові інших мовців, що спричинені внутрішньомовною інтерференцією або негативним перенесенням з рідної мови. Наведено приклади вправ для одночасного формування означених умінь і м’яких навичок майбутніх учителів англійської мови.

The study considers the development of soft skills in students of pedagogical higher educational institutions while teaching English pronunciation. Taking into account the analysis of modern approaches to soft skills classification and the requirements of Educational Program for professional training of future teachers of English the author divides the soft skills vital for effective development of other people’s foreign language communicative competence into four groups: 1) interactive and communicative soft skills; 2) cognitive soft skills; 3) self-management soft skills; 4) the skills of using modern information and communication technology. The first group is presented by effective teamwork and an excellent command of the English and the Ukrainian languages for effective communication in scientific, pedagogical and social spheres following the principles of tolerance, dialogue and cooperation. The second group includes identification and analysis of problems, finding reasonable solutions, generating innovative ideas, critical evaluation and analysis of information from different sources. Self-management skills are presented by self-improvement, autonomous learning, self-organization, time-management, lifelong learning. The fourth group consists of the ability to effectively use modern technology in order to search for information, acquire new knowledge and teach others. It is emphasized that the highest potential for increasing trainee teachers’ soft skills is offered by the activities for developing professional skills such as analyzing English and Ukrainian phonetic units for defining their common and different characteristics; locating, identifying, analyzing and correcting other people’s pronunciation mistakes caused by intralanguage interference or negative transfer from the Ukrainian language; locating, identifying, analyzing and correcting one’s own pronunciation mistakes caused by intralanguage interference or negative transfer from the Ukrainian language. Examples of activities are provided for simultaneous development of the above mentioned professional and soft skills.
