Abstract

Кваліфікаційна робота присвячена створенню авторського документального фільму, який досліджує глибину української музичної традиції крізь призму одного твору. Центральною метою стало бажання авторки звернути увагу глядачів на маловідомі сторінки історії української культури, актуалізувати їх у контексті сучасних подій і популяризувати українську музичну спадщину на міжнародному рівні. Документальний фільм «Carol of the Bells – невідома історія відомої пісні» у порівнянні з художнім, це формат неігрового кіно, що висвітлює реальні події, культурні процеси та історичні постаті, пов’язані з виникненням і трансформацією української щедрівки «Щедрик» у всесвітньо відому композицію «Carol of the Bells». Стрічка охоплює як український контекст створення пісні, так і міжнародний резонанс її подальшого життя. Особлива увага приділяється творчому шляху Миколи Леонтовича, культурним і політичним умовам, у яких твір набув нового звучання, а також діяльності хорової капели, що понад століття зберігає і поширює його музичну спадщину.The qualification project is dedicated to the creation of an original documentary film that explores the depth of Ukrainian musical tradition through the lens of a single composition. The central aim of the author is to draw the audience’s attention to the lesser-known pages of Ukrainian cultural history, to highlight their relevance in the context of modern events, and to promote Ukrainian musical heritage on the international stage. The documentary film “Carol of the Bells – The Untold Story of a Famous Song”, unlike a feature film, belongs to the genre of non-fiction cinema and sheds light on real events, cultural processes, and historical figures connected with the origin and transformation of the Ukrainian “Shchedryk” into the world-famous composition Carol of the Bells. The film covers both the Ukrainian context of the song’s creation and the international resonance of its later journey. Special attention is given to the creative path of Mykola Leontovych, the cultural and political conditions that gave the piece new meaning, and the work of the choral chapel that has preserved and promoted his musical legacy for over a century.
