Abstract

Стаття присвячена графу Дмитру Гейдену – предводителю дворянства Вінниччини, активному діячеві доби Гетьманату Павла Скоропадського. Розкривається його внесок у модернізацію Поділля, підтримку освіти, культури та розвиток місцевого самоврядування. Аналіз постаті Гейдена дозволяє по-новому осмислити роль аристократії у творенні української державності 1918 року.The article is dedicated to Count Dmytro Heyden, the leader of the nobility of Vinnytsia, an active figure of the era of the Hetmanate of Pavlo Skoropadsky. His contribution to the modernization of Podillia, support of education, culture, and the development of local selfgovernment is revealed. The analysis of Heyden’s figure allows us to rethink the role of the aristocracy in the creation of Ukrainian statehood in 1918.
