regional philharmonic, municipal palace of arts ‘Zorya’ and regional center of folk art. Functions of leisure have been determined, among them – communicative, recreational, artistic, social, value-orientation, cognitive and educational. Leisure functions determine its level: passive, entertaining,
cognitive and creative leisure. Vinnytsia region has a broad network of culture and art institutions - Vinnytsia State Academic Music and Drama Theatre named after M. Sadowski, academic puppetry, regional philharmonic, regional center of folk art, club institutions, municipal palace of arts ‘Zorya’, 105 museums, 953 libraries, etc. Among the non-governmental establishments there are
Contemporary Art Center ‘Art-Chic’, Expocenter of Vinnytsia Chamber of Commerce and a number of commercial-entertainment centers. In the course of
examination of the socio-cultural dynamics of Vinnytsia region development during the period of Ukraine’s independence, it was revealed that the network of
cultural institutions of the region had been decreasing due to closing or reorganization of district and village club institutions, while leading cultural institutions of the region (philharmonic, palace of arts ‘Zorya’, regional center
of folk art, etc.), despite the difficult conditions of the present, had continued their working adapting to the modern demands. New directions for development
have been defined as following: organization of festivals, conduction of joint artistic projects, publishing activity of the regional center of folk art, transformation of separate institutions into multidisciplinary ones, emergence of
non-state institutions of culture and leisure – Contemporary Art Center ‘Art-Chic’, Expocenter of Vinnitsa Chamber of Commerce, shopping and entertainment malls (‘Megamall’, ‘Magigrand’, ‘Anastasia’, ‘Igromania’, ‘Sky
Park’) that offer their visitors restaurant chains, rooms for kids, skating rinks, bowling, billiards, movie theaters and recreational areas. These institutions at present are very popular among the youth. This is due to a change of lifestyle and rhythm of modern life, influence of pop culture and media. Keywords: leisure, cultural institutions, Vinnytsia region, art projects, socio-cultural conditions.
